Drag Races and New Bonuses have been added to GTA Online

GTA Online has added drag races, announced by Rockstar Games last week. There are 7 drag races in total: Bluff It , Playing Chicken , Drag It Out , High n Dry , Make the Pass , Natural Highs & Kickin' Sand . Each of these can be played by 1 to 4 players. You must be a member of the LS Car Meet to access them.
You'll be able to start all drag races through the pause menu by using the Jobs - Play Job - Rockstar Created - Races.
There are three classes of cars available in drag racing: Tuners, Sports and Muscle. You can make the race contact and non-contact, change the time of day and weather, customize the amount of traffic on the roads, including disabling it altogether. You can also allow or prohibit the use of personal cars. In general, the whole standard set of settings is present here.
The races themselves are similar to drag racing from Need For Speed: Underground, but in GTA Online the car is not tied to the lane, you control it as usual, but with manual gear shifting.
At the beginning of the race you are invited to do a burnout. For a successful burnout you need the speedometer arrow to be in the blue zone. Do not overdo it, or you will burn the tires to the rims. It is also worth noting that the speedometer shows speed in km/h, which is nice.
Then begins the race itself, where the main difference from any other will be manual gear shifting. You need to catch the speedometer arrow in the blue zone to increase the gear. The first 3-4 speeds click off quickly, you have to get used to catching the timings. Flawless shifts give a brief boost of acceleration.
In a perfect ride you will hardly have to downshift, all the tracks are quite smooth and without sharp turns, but in case of an accident you will have to do it. If a crash brings you to a complete stop, it's easier to put the car in reverse and start in first gear than to downshift to first from eighth.
After a while, nitro will become available. It appears once during the whole race and is not replenished after use, but all tracks are short, so it is not necessary. Acceleration lasts for a few seconds and accelerates your car about 70 km/h above its maximum speed.
If you often shift gears late, the car will sooner or later smoke, break down and catch fire, and you'll have to respawn.
